Today is a special day: LBG Medical (Langer) turns 40!

On the 22nd May 1980 Langer UK was officially incorporated – The UK & Europe’s first commercial custom orthotic laboratory. The goal at the time was to enable practitioners to spend more of their time doing ‘what they do best’ – treating patients - & let us produce the complex orthotic devices required to a consistent, repeatable and high quality standard. It is amazing to think how far the market has come since then – with over 95% of clinicians dispensing custom orthotics now using a commercial lab, and we are incredibly proud of the role we have played in pioneering that revolution.

Today though we are more thinking of our future than the past. We believe that the custom orthotic market will evolve much faster in the next 10 years than ever before. Technology is rapidly improving – in terms of the way pathologies are diagnosed, foot data is captured & the manufacturing technologies available. Under our trusted leadership team, we are better positioned than ever before to lead these advances and continue pioneering the custom orthotic market.

In the coming years, we have the opportunity to reach more people than ever before! Both through our recent strategic acquisition of Integrity Orthotics in the North American market and through our diversified product offering including our brands of ‘Bio’ prefabricated orthotics & ‘Strive’ footwear.

We have accomplished a lot during our first 40 years! But what matters now is what we do next! Thank you to all of our employees & to our many long-standing customers, who have helped make LBG Medical a fantastic company now and for many decades to come.
